This is the third test release towards version 0.2.0. The focus of this release is improved terrain generation: improved stability and cancellation, as well as simpler selection of Internet downloaded layers (WMS).
First test release towards a 0.2 version. Revamped terrain generation. Improvements to Carte-Sur-Table compatibility. Support for Lambert. All CST files from the CST home page can be successfully opened. A settings dialog has been added. You can set text color, HUD color, cache directory, and Internet proxy. There is a new WMS source XML-based configuration file. There is better display in the Terrain menu. A few bugs have been fixed, including reading data from read-only file systems. The GUI has more track colors and a refined tracks/waypoints tree. There are several new WMS sources.
All the features of release 0.0.5 are now
accessible from menus and dialog boxes. A
graphical user interface is used to wrap the main
functionality of the track viewer in 3D, such as
opening and closing files; focusing and zooming on
tracks, waypoints, or segments; and generating
terrains from downloaded or local imagery.
The main improvement compared to 0.0.4 is a smooth
integration of the Earth. Earth is automatically
insterted into the scene using Blue Marble Next
Generation data from NASA. The mouse interface was
completly revamped and customized to handle
Earth-centric scenes as well as projected ones.
Other less significant improvements like text
readability have been integrated to this version.
Many other bugs have been solved.
There are many improvements to the overall rendering and scene manipulation. Lighting has been modified and corrected to independently set light level on waypoints and terrains. Waypoints’ caption text display is enabled depending on the eye distance and waypoint relative weight. This impacts rendering and scene navigation. The application no longer freezes at startup while generating terrains, and data download has been optimized. This release is available on Windows.
