みなさま JST バイオサイエンスデータベースセンター (NBDC) とライフサイエンス統合データベースセンター (DBCLS) が主催する国際版 BioHackathon 2016 の参加受付を開始しました。BioHackathon はバイオインフォマティクスに関連する技術開発を合宿形式で集中的に行う会議で、本年は山形県鶴岡市と慶應義塾大学の後援により、山形県鶴岡市での開催となります。公開シンポジウムを6月12日に慶應義塾大学 先端生命科学研究所 メタボロームキャンパスにて、6月13日〜17日にハッカソンを山形県鶴岡市 あつみ温泉たちばなやで開催します。 The 9th NBDC/DBCLS BioHackathon http://2016.biohackathon.org/ 日程: * 6月12日 (日) 公開シンポジウム @ 山形県鶴岡市 慶應義塾大学先端生命科学研究所 (http://www.iab.keio.ac.jp/access/) * 6月13日 (月) 〜 17日 (金) ハッカソン @ 山形県鶴岡市 あつみ温泉たちばなや (http://www.tachibanaya.jp) 近年 EBI や NCBI をはじめ主要なデータベースセンターから RDF によるデータ公開が進展しており、国内でも NBDC 統合化推進プログラムを中心に様々なデータベースが RDF 化されて NBDC RDF Portal (http://integbio.jp/rdf/) から公開されています。RDF 化によって、全てのデータベースが同じ方法で利用でき、データベース間で関連する情報が統合されるとともに、データの持つ意味が明確になります。今回の BioHackathon では、これらのマルチオミックスデータを活用したアプリケーションの開発を進めるとともに、引き続きデータベース統合における標準化と相互運用性の向上のための開発を行います。データベース統合化のための技術開発だけでなく、統合したデータを活用するアプリケーションの開発を目的とした参加も歓迎します。 シンポジウム、ハッカソン共に参加費は無料ですが、参加される方は、会場・送迎・食事の手配などの都合上、下記のページから事前の登録をお願いします。なお、宿泊希望の方は相部屋となりますのでご了承下さい。 国内参加登録 **5/15 締切** http://2016.biohackathon.org/registration 大田達郎 ライフサイエンス統合データベースセンター OVERVIEW -------- NBDC and DBCLS have been organizing annual BioHackathons since 2008, mainly focusing on standardization and interoperability of Bioinformatics data and web services for improving integration, preservation and utilization of databases in the life sciences. This year, we will host the hakathon in Tsuruoka with a generous support from the Institute for Advanced Biosciences of the Keio University, where our collaborators are conducting large-scale metabolomics researches along with genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics sciences. OBJECTIVES ---------- To improve integration and utilization of data, we have chosen the Semantic Web as a key technology during the past BioHackathons. As a result of our community efforts, the number and volume of publicly available life science RDF resources are expanding, e.g, * NBDC RDF Portal: http://integbio.jp/rdf/ * EBI/UniProt/Ensembl RDF: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/rdf/ * PubChem RDF: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/rdf/ * MeSH RDF: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ * and more ... And, now it is demanded to create applications based on them, while we also continue developing tools, ontologies and RDF data as we have done in the previous BioHackathons. For this purpose, the Metabolome campus of the Keio University in Tsuruoka would be an ideal place to discuss and develop new applications with multi-omics data in life sciences.
