StarPlot

StarPlot now permits the use of parsecs instead of
light-years as the primary distance unit, and also
can show distances in astronomical units and miles
or kilometers at close range. A new button permits
the chart to be set to the orientation of a volume
of space as seen from Earth. A new dialog box
makes it easy to calculate the distance between
two arbitrary points in space. More documentation
has been written. Some bugs preventing compilation
with modern g++ versions have also been fixed.

This is a bugfix release that improves support for older
compilers (g++ 2.95) and older versions of GTK+ 2. The
Spanish translation is now es.po instead of es_ES.po, so will
also work with Latin American locales.

This is the first version to support i18n, and a Castilian
Spanish translation is now available. Other new features
include a "Save to PNG" option and an improved star
information dialog with sortable columns. A new configure
script option allows specifying the default Web browser at
compile time. The starconvert utility now has some support
for multiple star systems. Numerous other minor
enhancements and bugfixes have been made.

The bug causing random changes in the display colors on Mac OS X has been fixed. (On other platforms, it is probably unnecessary to upgrade from version 0.94.)

This release of StarPlot has been ported to GTK+ version 2, so it has
anti-aliased fonts. A font dialog is included, in addition to other,
more minor aesthetic improvements. The source tree now has an
autoconf-generated configure script. Some minor bugfixes have also
been made.
