This is a bugfix release with many small feature additions. Changes include launch fixes, memory fixes, better support for non-English text, more chat preferences, and more add-ons.
This release lets users chat with friends on
services like Yahoo,
Google Talk, AIM, ICQ, and Jabber, add iGoogle
Gadgets to Spicebird,
disable the applications that are unused, access
Google calendar, and
import data from Thunderbird, Outlook, and Outlook
Express. It adds
experimental support for managing blogs, support
for more than 10
languages, and a basic set of add-ons.
In this version users can access email from their service provider using POP/IMAP protocols, manage schedules using the calendar and tasks applications, subscribe to public calendars, read news and blogs using RSS subscriptions, and manage contacts and chat with friends by using their Gtalk or other Jabber accounts.
