This release was updated for compatibility with Slackware 12.1. A small bug in package name handling that prevented the kernel-headers package from being upgraded was fixed. This was corrected in slackpkg.conf.
This release has a new command line parser, and accepts almost all slackpkg.conf options directly from the command line. There is a new "batch" mode to do updates without human interaction. There is an updated mirrors file and many bugfixes.
The download in 'slackpkg update' is smarter and can check in ChangeLog.txt to see if something has changed since the last update. A new 'dialog' interface. You can see the differences between old and new configuration files before removing or overwriting them. install-new has been added to install packages created in the last Slackware development cycle. Blacklist can handle whole directories, and not just single filenames. Many minor bugfixes and small features.
The upgrade-all command was added to upgrade the
whole system in the same order recomended by
Slackware's UPGRADE.TXT. The clean-system command
was added to remove all third party or obsolete
packages from your machine. Many bugfixes were
made, and the mirrors file was updated. The
program is ready for the release of Slackware
10.2.
By popular demand, the "old-style" output format is back. Many bugs
have been fixed in package lists generation. All slackpkg users need to
upgrade to 1.03. All older versions can't work with the new FILELIST.TXT
format and will give an empty list of packages. 1.03 can extend its
functions with modules or user functions. There is a new manpage.
