This release supports more than 30 new formats and
filters. The --ao[=DRIVER] option was added to
write to the soundcard using the specified libao
driver. Support for reading with libaudiofile and
libsndfile was added. Support for (cable-free)
CDDA playback was added. The --cddb option was
added to read CDDB info from freedb.org. The --esd
option was added to write to the soundcard using
EsounD.
This is a slimmed down version, and all missing
features will be revised and added release by
release. It plays FLAC, MP3, Ogg, WAV, and raw
files. ID3 tags are supported.
