The software distribution now features dependency
resolution and a system-upgrade function. The RPM
engine handles dependencies cleanly now. Stress-
and performance-testing helped fix some stability
related issues and gave some hints resulting in
optimizations both in code and documentation.
The Web frontend now signals to the Director server each end of a HTTP request so that the server gets a chance to clean up resources reserved for this connection/request. This dramatically reduces the Director servers' memory consumption.
The binaries of this release have been built with a patched GCC/GCJ, working around a GCJ runtime library bug causing erratic hangs. Bad file format for a few config files has been fixed. An "sfidirector passwd" command has been added. Memory consumption has been reduced. Please also upgrade to BigClerk 0.07 or higher, since this will dramatically reduce memory consumption (and possible crashes due to memory overload) of the frontend interface.
