This release adds support for the AMD-64 platform, and fixes some bugs in the existing code. GCC version 4 is now supported. Potential security issues concerning exploiting function stacks on some architectures have been fixed.
This release focuses on improvements in on-line filtering. Users can now easily group messages by size, originator's IP address, agent type and instance, etc. Text information (including text fields in message headers) can be matched with enhanced regular expressions. Log reader handling of rotated log files is now smarter as it can even read information appended to already rotated files (favorite syslog/logrotate technique). The binary storage module is now more paranoid to avoid a possibility of a log corruption.
There is a new proxy installation target in the setup wizard, updated documentation, a Quick Start guide (English), fixes for gcc 3.2, fixes in the setup wizard and alert, fixed SSL tests, message buffer cleanup, and a Webtools update.
