This package contains a ghostscript driver that
works with the DjVuLibre
3.5 command djvudigital to produce high-quality
DjVu files from
PostScript or PDF files.
The DJVuLibre library in version 3.5.18 contains a
fully-functional
public API for decoding DjVu files. This API is
used by the projects
evince and okular. DjVuLibre now comes with
project files for compiling
it natively under Windows. Many bugs have been
fixed.
The djview4 package contains a new viewer and
browser plugin for
displaying DjVu files. This new viewer uses the
Qt4 graphical user
interface toolkit and the public API of the
DjVuLibre library. It can
simultaneously display multiple pages with a
continuous or side-by-side
layout. It implements all the DjVu annotations and
outlines. It can
search text in DjVu documents. It is generally
superior to the djview3
viewer bundled with DjVuLibre.
A new cjb2 program provides better lossy compression: compressed files are now 15% to 50% smaller. A new ddjvuapu API provides an easier interface for decoding djvu files. The ddjvu tool now uses this API and can produce TIFF files. The compilation process now uses libtool for better portability.
The DjVu viewer, "djview", has gained a full
screen option and navigation history buttons. The
encoder "cjb2" can read TIFF files as well as PBM
files. The DjVu XML tools are now installed by
default. French and Japanese translations have
been added. DjVuLibre now works under OS X, but
still requires the X11 server.
