1.8.5 p 12 is DP Ruby
1.8.2 is OS X Ruby (old)
I tried with both on most recent unstable... it doesn't build:

possible to test with the version of Ruby provided with Mac OS X?
Also, what's the version of your DP Ruby? I remember a bug with 1.8.4
and dyld, the backtrace doesn't look similar but it may be perhaps the
cause.
