This version now includes a smarter algorithm for placing geographic names and avoiding any overlap of the labels. Coordinates of grid lines have also been implemented.
The printing routines can now produce PostScript output in vector format, leading to considerable improvements in printing quality. Also, the CIA factbook data has been upgraded to the 2002 edition.
This is mostly a maintenance release including some minor bugfixes and code clean-ups. The data window now has a button allowing you to link each country with a PDF document.
The new built-in map editor allows user-defined objects or actions to be added to the map. These could include pixmaps, colored regions, the execution of programs linked to geographical locations, and more. The locations database has been extended, and now includes 8800 airports and 90 astronomical entries.
