The most noteworthy features in this release are: super-fast application startup (indistinguishable from non-network-transparent apps) and sound follow mode (the sound follows the application when it is moved to another machine). This is the first public version of the 0.12.x branch. Many bugs were fixed in the short time since the 0.11.x series. Well worth using if you have a Linux machine to connect to (somewhat less useful if you only have Windows and Mac OS X around).
Although this is mostly a bugfix release, it offers a number of significant improvements. To name a few: the ability to open files on remote servers (without using SFTP), Xpra JPEG mode has been fixed on MS Windows, better detection for stale connections, the ability to easily restrict remote commands, documentation updates, man pages, a --help page for commands, tray icon animation, easier seamless integration into .desktop files, and the ability to retry failed connections. There are some bugfixes and cleanups. Packages are available for all major platforms, from OS X PowerPC to Fedora Rawhide.
This release adds the ability to integrate transparently into the regular start menu: giving network transparency to applications without having to start them via the applet's menu on systems using the freedesktop menu specification. It also fixes a number of bugs. Connections via SSH will now auto-start remote servers properly as long as winswitch is installed there. All users are encouraged to upgrade. Repository users should get the update automatically.
This is a stable bugfix release without any major new features. Sending applications from one machine to another should not take more than a few seconds.
There are quite a few fixes for Xpra too. The server can now run properly embedded in the client, improving performance and compatibility. Windows builds now also use the latest GTK-2 build.

This is the first major release in many months since the original public announcement. Upgrading is highly recommended. There are some major improvements in the Windows and Mac OS X versions, and many bugfixes for all platforms. The SSH tunnel code has been rewritten using Twisted Conch, which makes it more reliable and more portable. Winswitch (as it is now also known) now supports: VNC, NX, Xpra, SSH X11 forwarding, and RDP in full desktop mode or seamless mode.
