The following bugs present in the previous release
(0.6) were fixed: Safari users were not able to
edit tables; the view icon did not work when MySQL
was used as the RDBMS; the delete icon did not
work; and the next/previous icons did not work.
The user interface has been drastically improved by using icons, tooltips, and Ajax technology. A number of bugs were fixed, and the code was made to work under PHP 5.
This release adds improvements to the user interface (which
is now W3C-compliant HTML) and a number of bugfixes. The
'table edit' mode was reworked and is now much more
responsive and usable. It is now possible to add username,
password, and search statements to the URL, making 'deep-
linking' into the databases possible. The PDF plugin can
download the PDF reprint itself (when given a pubmed ID)
from many journals. The import module has been reworked
and should be much more robust.
This release added 'views', a mechanism for users to
define which fields of each database they want to
see. Databases for constructs (plasmids) and
ordering were also included, and many minor bugs
were fixed.
This release adds the ability to generate reports from the
results of database searches. The reports are based on
user-definable templates. Most of the problems when
working with linked databases in earlier releases have
been removed. The data import and export functions as
well as the user interface were improved. Major speed
increases make it now feasible to work with large
datasets.
