The main server just had a reset, so everyone starts from scratch. With the reset, there were a lot of fundamental changes to make the game easier to use and less difficult for new players. The most notable additions: a new economy so long term players have less of an advantage over new players; special Pilot Skills like Dodge Maneuver and Landlord; pilots try to eject if their unit is destroyed; and a lot more statistics are kept, including a detailed history about each unit and pilot as well as a kill board. It's easier to find a game now, and playing is promoted even more.
A random map generator was added. The layout was
enhanced. The picture-set was completed, so every
unit now has its distinct picture. The whole thing
was made more newbie friendly.
The unit pictures were redrawn and enlarged and
now look much better. Dedicated servers can now
load saved games. Players can now set any
supported rule they want to have and if all
contenders agree, the server will automatically
set those options. Some bugs with auto-reporting
and an annoying lockup problem with popup
windows were fixed.
Drag and Drop support was added for Meks in the bay. The Look and Feel can be configured now. Underwater rules have been implemented, the turret heading is displayed now, and basic minefields are supported.
This release adds Indirect LRM Fire and LOS-Tool and Mech camos. More inter-house teamwork is possible. There are more mechstats (average black market sell prices, etc.). Triad Tournaments work again.
