Notable changes include bugfixes to URL detection, some new scripts for user management, additional XMPP commands, some fixes to make StatusNet work in PHP CGI environments, and many other bugfixes.
This release adds support for a hosted service, and adds multimedia handling with OEmbed and direct file uploads. Related notices are organized into conversation trees. Users can design their profile pages, as can group admins. There are 5 new themes. Public sites will periodically send usage statistics. A new plugin allows logging in with Facebook Connect. STOMP queuing is available. Group admins can promote or block users, and assign group aliases. Users can read the tweets their Twitter friends post. More plugins for "real-time" updates. More feeds for groups and tags.
This is a bugfix and minor feature release. It includes new plugins for the Piwik analytics engine and for a templating engine. A new "welcomebot" is included to welcome new users, and there is a new bookmarklet for sending status notices about a Web page. There are numerous bugfixes to make the software more standards-compliant with HTTP, Atom, and FOAF. This is a recommended upgrade for anyone running Laconica.
Most of the changes are for developers and admins, and there are only a few user-visible changes. There is an initial version of a Web-based installer, and a plugin architecture for server events. There are sample plugins for Google Analytics and blogspam.net. There's also a new Twitter Search API, and mobile and print stylesheets. From a user's point of view, the new email notification of @-messages and automatic hashtags for all grouptags are the most noticeable. Some bugs with remote subscription were fixed.
