This release fixes a bug with ROMs containing the '#"
symbol. It adds a progress dialog box when loading ROM
information from disk, fixes a problem with compiling on
Mandrake 9.2 when using older versions of QT, and fixes the
long-standing bug where KDE items (icons, rc files, etc.)
would be installed in the wrong places.
This release was updated to work with (and now
requires) Stella 1.4. The manual viewing was
integrated into the main window. Game notes are
now automatically shown in the status bar. The
"md5sum" program is no longer required. The menu
items were rearranged to be more compliant with
the KDE style guide. The user manual was updated.
This release adds some minor code cleanup lingering from the KDE 2.x
codebase. A major change is the addition of Mandrake 9.1 source RPMs
(SRPMs). Mandrake binaries are coming soon. Also, Red Hat 9.0 RPMs
and SRPMs are coming soon. Snapshots, labels, and manuals are now
released in RPM format. All future releases of KStella and associated
data will be in RPM format only.
There is a large speed improvement in this release. A cache file was introduced so that if the ROM's directory hasn't changed since you last ran KStella, then the cache file is used, speeding up ROM analysis. Many UI changes that reflect new options in Stella 1.3. Viewing of the preview window is optional. Related to this, the buttons previously associated with the preview window have been removed and placed in a menu. The preview window has been greatly improved. It can now be resized to any size, and previews are much faster if using opaque window resizing. The user manual has been updated.
The program was updated to work with (and now requires) KDE3. Startup crashes were fixed. The online manual was updated to make it much easier for first-time users, and the code was updated to work with gcc 3.2.
