Variable deme size could crash the server; this has been fixed. Compression of connections can now be activated by clients if the option is set to "-1".
Restarting the server now gives the correct number of jobs still needing to be crunched. The monitor now gives better information (demes information, generations, jobs to do/total, etc.). Signal handling works with the new threading model of Linux kernel 2.6.x (and backported to 2.4.26). Some clients could not be killed with signals; this has been fixed.
