I wish a ruleset could enable the option to force the creation of a new trade route (when the caravan arrives to the target city), regardless if the existing trade routes produce more income.
For example, my ruleset uses strategic resources that can be traded (using Traderoute range) to be able to build better units (ie veteran Knights with Iron). The access to these strategic resources is sometimes more important than the trade income of the trade routes, and it would be useful to be able to force the creation of a new trade route (that sends Iron to a city) even if it replaces a trade route that brings more income (but no strategic resources).
In my earth ruleset I have created a new Caravan action to cancel the existing trade routes of a city (instead of enter marketplace, by using lua scripts). An action to cancel trade routes, implemented properly, would be an alternative to my request.
