(At least) gtk3-client is not building (regression since a patch backported from branches without that gui)

Last couple of CI runs of S3_1 have failed. The other builds success, but 'clang_debug' and 'normal' fail.
Likely to get treated as an emergency fix (i.e, push without review period)
