Similar ticket #43034 for S3_0 and S3_1: "Given that there's only some vague talk about developing a new libtool version that would drop the requirement, I think we should port this change to S3_1 too."
There has been a new libtool release since, but it still depends on ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS to be present. So I think we should add it back to S3_2 too, once that has been branched (don't want it to master/main)
