FontForge ships a utility for converting Acorn font files (the format specific to the old British cult microcomputer) to SFD. This seems not to have been touched in a long time. There is a FontForge pull request for updating it at https://github.com/fontforge/fontforge/pull/2560 , but it's not clear why it needs to be a separate utility at all.
Suggestion for FontAnvil: merge this code into the usual file-loading routine so it won't need to be a separate utility. The file format may need to be reverse-engineered far enough that the code can recognize files in this format. The FontForge pull request discussion includes pointers to files in Acorn format suitable for testing (from an archived dialup BBS's download area, apparently) and the proposer is likely to post some with cleaner copyright status, suitable for inclusion in the test suite.
