All extensions can now be enabled per installation. Not all of these gems have been fully brought back to life. With ogr you can still open up all formats this powerful library can read. Wms currently needs a makeover, which is on the list for the next release. A number of defects have been fixed.
This is the first development release towards new
release series 1.2. Among the new features are
resizable point symbols, improved raster support
with transparency, wxPython 2.6 support, a number
of new extensions (of which OGR-extension connects
various new data sources) and better PostGIS
support.
The Spanish, French, Russian, and German
translations were updated. Hungarian and
Brazillian Portuguese translations were added. The
gns2shp extensions were updated. The svgexport
extension was added to export maps and legends in
SVG. Thuban now remembers directories during a
session. Massive improvements have been done to
the PostGIS interface. A number of known bugs have
been fixed.
This release includes map navigation, object selection and
identification, a legend and legend editor including
automated class generation, printing, management of
projections, multi-language support, table management,
various supported data sources, and an API for add-ons
including various examples.
This release includes faster rendering, some experimental extensions (importing of APR files, GNS to Shapefile, WMS client) and EPSG support, numerous fixes, and an optional, experimental edit-feature for tables. This is also the first release candidate for 1.0.
