This is the first playable release ever. It features one island with 22 fully-playable tutorial levels, a story, music and sound support, an enhanced level editor, translations into Czech, German, French, Turkish, and Serbian, and a configurable controller.
A statically linked binary is available, which doesn't depend on other libraries. New additions include screenshot support, a primitive console, a credits screen, a quick scroll map, particle-ground collision, animated backgrounds, better collision map handling, lots of new playable levels, more graphics, and misc bug fixes. All actions are now working.
This release adds new levels, new graphics, some optimizations, automatic saving of the game status, tab completion in the editor, a nice icon panel in the editor, and the ability to apply different colors to the background. Pingus now uses ClanLib 0.3.x, event-based input handling, and alpha values for dimming of the background. The ~/.pingus/options file was renamed to ~/.pingus/config. The source should now be namespace clean, directories under "~/.pingus" are now created correctly with the right permissions, and a huge memory hole was fixed.
Lots of compiler warnings have been removed, a new (better looking) main menu, a new "Intro" (just a logo scroller), a (working!) level editor, much better forces support, level grouping ('themes'), lots of new gfx and levels, some special x-mas levels, some more Info documentation, and a working bridger have been added, the Level selector has been temporarily removed, and some huge memory holes have been patched.
