Important bugfixes include a number of crashes when deleting IM contacts and when switching profiles. Deadlocks during connection and a problem with the Windows installer were also fixed, and V4L support was improved. A number of infrastructural changes include the complete removal of scons support and moving build documentation from the wiki into the source tree, and updates to 13 translations.

A complete re-write of the WengoPhone classic series, this release integrates the back-end of GAIM (now libpurple) to integrate many IM protocols with standard SIP-based VoIP calls and a friendly and usable user interface.

Major changes since the 2.0 release include secure PC to PC calls with sRTP, improved interoperability, the ability to configure any SIP platform easily, and improved interoperability with other softphones. There are dozens of GUI changes to make the app more user friendly. Over a dozen translations are complete. There is vastly improved stability, particularly on Linux and Mac OS.

Enhancements were made to audio and video support.
General stability fixes were made. A rich text
chat was added. RPM and DEB packaging was
implemented in the build system. Arts support was
added. The user interface was improved. Additional
translations were made.

This version features PC-to-PC voice calls and
chat, a contact-list with presence, and a call
history. The program was STUN-enabled to traverse
firewalls. With a Wengo account, it supports
outgoing and incoming calls to and from PSTN and
mobiles phones, voice mail, and sending SMS text
messages.
