A number of small but noticeable improvements were made. The property editor now has an "object history" field, making it easier to select and edit operator graph nodes that influence the current object. The wireframe of mesh objects is now properly occluded by default, which improves depth perception tremendously. Other new features include snap to grid, rotation and scaling in Duplicate Objects, creation of subdivided boxes and planes, and the ability to export multiple objects to Wavefront OBJ files. Performance on complex scenes (with thousands of operator graph nodes) has been improved.
A bug that stopped Moonlight|3D from working on
non-English locales has been fixed. Also, various
other bugs related to input checking and grouped
objects have been fixed. 3D views can now be reset
to the 4 standard perspectives: front, right, top,
and perspective. The Delete OG Node tool can now
delete almost any node from the graph.
Support for textures and UV map editing has
improved. New tools for grouping objects and
merging meshes have been added. The operator graph
editor has been improved.
It is now possible to animate Moonlight|3D scenes and render these animations. A split face tool and a new color selection dialog were added. Additionally, this release brings a collection of small user interface improvements. Internal changes in the program improve memory usage and in some cases also performance.
In this release, Moonlight|3D starts to support
true object instancing. Newly introduced dock
widgets allow nearly free rearrangement of
elements in the application's main window. Also,
some small changes have been made to tools to
smooth the program's overall workflow. Finally,
Moonlight|3D 0.1.5 is the first release to
actually feature the support of OpenEXR images
through the use of exrforjava.
