Various bugfixes, some code rewrites, and prep for PHP4 (et al) extensions. This release was made thanks to feedback on configurations which resulted in failure, or unexpected behaviours, which this release focuses on nullifying. Please note, this release fixes some bugs which on some configurations may have prevented the program from starting at all.
Log file support and output filtering has been added, along with improved header output behaviour. Additional client headers are now interpreted and handled, such as If-Modified-Since. The MIME type format has been modified to extend multilingual support. Some bugfixes were also made that caused inconveniences with certain configurations, as well as an updated pair of version CGI applications.
This release adds preliminary support for OpenSSL (HTTPS), as well as various utility additions such as EUID/EGID and signal handling. As well as feature additions, the request handler has been simplified and cleaned up. Various other minor and obnoxious memory errors were repaired, so it should run entirely clean now. Default-Page, 404 Error-Template, and Version-Info packages were added to the distribution.
