This release has many changes. The kernel has been updated to 2.6.32.15. This release has changed from Openswan to strongSwan. There are many software updates, GUI enhancements, and improvements.
The kernel has been updated to 2.6.27.25 Long Term Support. mISDN2 with LCR Support, USB and Flash Install Images, VDSL support, PPTP support, NL80211 WLAN stack, compat-wireless and iw, and Xen paravirt Guest Support for IPFire have been added. Alias support for red static has been re-added. QoS Layer7 filters have been reworked. There are many other changes.
The kernel was updated to Linux 2.6.25.19. Many more packages were updated, such as OpenSSL, OpenSSH, Apache, Squid, Snort, collectd, ntfs-3g, Openswan, Updatexlrator, iptables, and l7protocols. With several Atheros Chips, IPFire is able to work as a wireless access point. Support for UMTS-3G-Modems was improved. tmpfs is used to reduce disk reads and writes. Hardware monitoring was improved by the use of lmsensors. Vnstat traffic-accounting replaces ipac-ng.
